  15. <p>     FIRED. Tom Landry, 64, the only coach of the Dallas Cowboys
  16. since the team was founded 29 years ago. A brilliant,
  17. unemotional football strategist noted for never removing his
  18. hat while a game was in progress, Landry guided the Cowboys to
  19. five Super Bowl appearances, including victories in 1972 and
  20. 1978. As Landry's replacement, the Cowboys' new owner, Arkansas
  21. oilman Jerral Jones, selected his college teammate, University
  22. of Miami coach Jimmy Johnson. Said Landry: "You've taken my team
  23. away from me."
